In Pont-Caffino
Originally from the north of France, I grew up on my parents' farm. My education in the agricultural sector reinforced my attraction to the land. I discovered the world of wine during a visit to Touraine in the Montlouis-sur-Loire appellation, meeting various winemakers who were as passionate as they were fascinating in their different approaches: Damien Delecheneau, Xavier Weisskopf, Frantz Saumon, Stéphane Cossais... It was also a school friend, Aymeric Hillaire, a passionate winemaker and connoisseur, who accompanied me in this discovery of the wine world and tasting.
These encounters allowed me to discover more precisely the culture of the vine and to actively participate in the harvests, thus initiating my vineyard project. With the help of Frantz Saumon in Montlouis-sur-Loire, I deepened my knowledge and was able to produce my first wine on a small plot of Chenin. I continued this discovery by working a plot of Muscadet, supported here by Jo Landron and Daniel Bideau. This is how I began my adventure in the world of wine. My skills then developed thanks to enriching experiences alongside renowned winemakers, such asat the Ferme des Sept Lunes in Ardèche during the 2021 harvest, and at the Domaine de la Pépière in Muscadet during the 2022 harvest. These harvests and winemaking experiences consolidated my knowledge, propelling me towards an exciting quest in the world of wine. Meeting Pierre-Luc and Valérie, in Saint-Fiacre-sur-Maine, at the heart of Muscadet, seemed to answer my project. We have been working in collaboration for several months, and this companionship has confirmed my choice.
Pierre-Luc and Valérie are keen to manage the estate by emphasizing a strong human dimension with their team. Sensitive to the environment, their conversion to organic farming initiated in 2017 marks the starting point of a guideline they have initiated. Moreover, the estate brings together exceptional and varied terroirs, ranging from the high cliffs of Pont-Caffino on the granites of the Château-Thébaud appellation to the Gras Moutons hill on the gneiss of the Saint-Fiacre appellation. Together, we converge towards a project of transmission and support for the sustainability of this human-sized estate.
